DRYING :

After, all wet processing operations, articles need to be quickly and effectively dried in order to reduce the possibility of staining or corrosion occurring.

Different types of equipment are available for this purpose, including centrifugal driers, conveyorised drying ovens, heated barrels, etc.

In the earlier days, maize drying media or saw-dust was used for this application.

Centrifugal Drier :

It is a modern alternative to outdated concepts of drying - including saw-dust drying. Centrifugal driers incorporate the principles of spin and hot air drying to achieve speedier drying and without staining.

Manual Drier :

It is operated through a foot pedal and incorporates a safety interlocking arrangement which prevents the top-lid from being opened while in operation. An adequate supply of hot air is provided by a fully enclosed electric heater mounted on the side of the machine.

1] The complete drying cycle is manual.
2] Requires no manual intervention even for component unloading.
3] Ensures speedier drying, consistent quality and high productivity.
4] Ideal for high single loads at frequent intervals.

Automatic Drier :

It follows a preset operating sequence, thereby reducing labour and ensuring consistent quality and also higher productivity. A self contained unit, this drier has its hydraulic aggregated control panel for sequential operation of all functions.

1] The complete drying cycle is automatic.
2] Unloading is automatic after preset cycle.
3] Can handle larger loads per batch as compared to manual drier.
4] All sequential operations are interlocked.

Barrel Drier :

It is recommended for specific components not amenable to drying by centrifugal action, or which are liable to be damaged during discharge into a centrifugal drier.
Air heaters on either side of the barrel along with a circulation fan at the bottom; create a steady flow of hot air over the components in the barrel, which dry by evaporation.

1] Ideal for drying Barrel plated components without the need for unloading them from the plating barrel into the drying chamber.
2] Eliminates the risk of damage to components.
