Cartridge type of filters, are most extensively used world wide since they offer very high filtration areas per unit volume and are simple to maintain. A variety of cartridges are available to suit specific requirements, however depth-wound and value-wound polypropene depth cartridges are most commonly used for general applications.
- Ease of Maintenance and serviceability : Chambers are designed for quick changeovers with minimal loss of filtrate.
- Substantial solid holding capacity : The design of depth-wound cartridges form a large area of solid holding (one 10" long cartridge provides 3.5 sq. ft. area of solids).
- Pollution abatement : The reduced carry-over of plating solution resulting due to the longer service life of filter media, helps in reducing the effluent load and in turn helps in pollution abatement considerably.
- High tolerance to chemical and thermal variation : The system parts are constructed out of various polymers or corrosion-resistant material which are compatible with a wide range of chemicals and variation of temperature.
- Available in modular design : Various modular designs offer different flow capacity and size of the system, single or twin filter chamber, optional carbon chamber.
- Extremely cost effective : The biggest advantage of these systems is its low operating cost. Due to lower No. of change over of filtrating media, it saves cost of manpower, valuable plating chemicals and filtering media (no need of filter papers). |
