For bulk / large scale production applications, components will have to be held by specific devices in configuration and quantities most practical per jig. Jigs carry required current from the rectifier to the components and thus are made from material fairly electrically conductive. Brass or the more conductive surface of copper, are commonly used for main holding bars.
The contact portions are generally spring type; selected out of copper, phosphorous bronze, stainless steel or even titanium, depending upon the current carrying capacity and rigidity to hold components.
All jigs are usually custom-built depending upon shape, variety and quantum of components and also to complement tank sizes.
Highly specialized jigs are those used also for internal coating on bicycle / motor-cycle rims which require anodes not only externally but also internally.
Custom-built jigs have also been developed for small bore and long length tubes such as gun barrel and cylinders. |
