Phosphating
Phosphating serves as an excellent pre-treatment before painting & as a base for impregnation with enamels, paints, lacquers, oils & waxes. It is specially applied to ferrous metals, also used for zinc & aluminium to enhance the corrosition resistant & helps in improving adhesion of topcoats.
Phosphating
It is a process which aims at converting the surface layers of metals like MS, Al, Zn into strongly adherent crystalline insoluble metal phosphates. Phosphate coating is thin and adherent to the substrate material . Consequently the coating permits mechanical interlocking of the applied top coat such as oils, lacquers, etc., Various types of phosphate coatings such as zinc-phosphate, iron-phosphate, manganese-phosphate are used.
